I’ve just finished upgrading to WordPress 2.5 - a very smooth and easy upgrade, thanks to SVN
The entire dashboard has been redesigned and is far easier to navigate, looks nicer, and is much less buggy or “quirky” than before. Ozh’s drop-down menu plugin is a nice addition to it though.
There are some pretty screenshots on the 2.5 Sneak Peak post on the official WordPress blog.

Happy New Year to everyone :D
Yes I know the Fireworks image wasn’t taken at/for New Year’s, but it looks good in the post and suits the occasion :P
Edit: I just noticed that the last few posts I’d posted weren’t showing up to everyone else! They should be showing now :)

I pre-ordered Crysis a couple of weeks ago, and it arrived yesterday :D
I’ve played it for a few hours, and so far it’s been amazing - great story, graphics and gameplay. I look forward to playing bits of it again once I’ve upgraded my ageing computer - when I tried it at 1920×1080 and “High” settings I got between 1 and 2 FPS! Playing at 1280×800 wasn’t much better, but was (mostly) playable :)
It’s no Half-Life (2) beater, but it comes pretty close. Of course, I might change my opinion once I play it through again on a better PC, but that’s unlikely, especially after how good HL2:Episode 2 was. However, it’s still one of the best games I’ve played in a long time, and I highly recommend it :)

As I said back in September, I wanted an iPod Touch.
I have now finally got one after the Apple Store got them back in stock! And, so far, it’s been amazing. My InvisibleShield hasn’t quite arrived yet, so I’m going to keep the temporary plastic cover on it until it does.
The interface is amazing… Coverflow has absolutely no lag or delay, unlike in iTunes on my PC - it’s not everyday you can say your mp3 player performs better than your computer!
Hopefully I’ll be able to hack it soon to get some of the iPhone applications on it, such as Mail, Weather and Google Maps.

I bought myself the new Dell 2407WFP-HC, a 24" widescreen monitor with a native resolution of 1920×1200 - 120 pixels more than a 1080p HD video has :D
The extra 5 inches make a pretty big difference in pretty much everything - working, chatting or browsing web pages :D
Gaming at 1920×1200 is also a big change, once I had configured the games to run at that resolution - newer games, such as Command and Conquer 3 and Counter-Strike: Source were easy, you just select the resolution in a dropdown list. In others, such as Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam, it takes a bit of config file editing - but once that’s done, it works really well. Being able to see further to the left and the right helps a bit too :)
If I had the money, I’d definitely buy another one, but I’m saving for my new PC and about to buy an iPod Touch, so I won’t be getting another one for quite a while.
If you’re looking for a new monitor, and can stretch to the price for this one, I highly recommend it!

I went to the Bentall Centre Apple Store in Kingston today to have a quick play with the new iPod Touch. The interface looks great, is very easy to use, and as with all Apple products, “it just works” :D
I was hoping to get one before I start back at Uni tomorrow, but they’re not out until the weekend. I definitely plan to get one when they’re released though. Hopefully that will be enough time for my InvisbleShield to arrive :D

I finally bought myself the new Apple Keyboard on Tuesday! I would’ve bought one when I got my new Mac Mini, but Micro Anvika didn’t have any of the new ones in stock at that time.
So far the keyboard has been great - as with all other Apple products, it “just worked”, even in Windows! It’s much lower on the desk than any other keyboard I’ve used, and seems to be smaller without actually looking smaller, which will let me push it further out of the way when I need to use my laptop on my desk.
I haven’t yet tried it in any games or doing any serious coding, but from my experience chatting with it, writing comments on blogs, and just “using” it, I would say it’s probably the best keyboard I’ve used to date - I highly recommend buying one if you need a new keyboard :D

I bought myself a Mac Mini on my way home from work at Micro Anvika (as the Apple Store in Regent Street didn’t have any of the new Core 2 Duo ones yet) earlier this week :D
So far it has just amazed me - considering it only has an Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics processing unit, you wouldn’t know that that was all that powered it from the way it does the animations. Exposé, Dashboard, the “genie” effect when minimizing and maximizing things to/from the dock, the “Flurry” screensaver, and various other subtle effects really show off the power of OS X :)
As Apple (and fans of Apple) often say, “it just works” - and I’d say they’re right :D Everything is so easy to install - most of the time it’s a simple drag and drop of one icon to a folder, and it does the rest for you. Even complicated applications, such as the Adobe CS3 are very easy and quick to install.
